Good News 4

This page highlights the coming of Christ into the world. This event in human history is so significant that we embark on the subject with reverence and awe. It is therefore incumbent on me to point out at this introductory stage;

1. This website is entirely inadequate to do justice to the subject.

2. I have allowed Scripture to speak for itself regarding Christ - hence the large content of Bible verses.

3. There is no substitute for reading the four gospel accounts. I encourage the reader to do just that.

4. This page is a humble attempt to point the reader to Holy Scripture and see for yourself that Jesus Christ is who he claimed to be.

Isaiah 9 v 2 & 6

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned. 6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders.

And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Many books have been written on the subject which comprises the following aspects of the person and work of Christ:

The Deity of Christ - He is God the Son, the second person of the Trinity.

The Pre-incarnate Christ - He existed in eternity past before becoming a man.

The Creator Christ - He was present and active in creation.

The Incarnate Christ - He came into time and became a man.

The Redeemer Christ - He alone could atone for human sin.

The Saviour Christ - He alone can save sinners.

The Resurrected Christ - He rose from the dead and is alive forevermore.

The Ascended Christ - He ascended from earth to heaven.

The Exalted Christ - He is seated at the right hand of God in heaven.

The Returning Christ - He will return to the air and take his church to heaven. This is imminent and we call it the rapture.

The Reigning Christ - He will return to this earth and set up his millennial kingdom and reign on earth for 1000 years. This will happen after the Tribulation.

The Eternal Christ - He will reign in eternity as King of kings and Lord of lords.

Christ is unique; He has no equal!

Romans 1 v 1-4

Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel of God— 2 the gospel he promised beforehand through his prophets in the Holy Scriptures 3 regarding his Son, who as to his earthly life was a descendant of David, 4 and who through the Spirit of holiness was appointed the Son of God in power by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord.

Hebrews 13 v 8

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Philippians 2 v 6-11

Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; 7 rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.

8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!

9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Now let's have a closer look at our subject.
