The year of the LORD's favour...

Isaiah 61 v 1 - 3

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, 2 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, 3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion... ...

...to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendour.

Dear reader, are you experiencing a time of uncertainty, doubt, anxiety or fear? Are you wondering what God's plan is for your life right now?

Jeremiah 29 v 1

I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.

I like the fact that although we don't know the plan; God does!

He says "I know..."

We need to exercise our faith and trust Him!  When we submit to His will and offer Him a sacrifice of praise, He gives us a crown of beauty instead of ashes, He gives us the oil of joy instead of mourning and He gives us a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.

God can lift us out of despair and transform our attitude and outlook.

Matthew 9 v 28 - When the two blind men came to Jesus, He asked them "Do you believe that I can do this?" Ask God to deliver you today from whatever is hindering the flow of joy and peace in your life and ministry.

A taste of the future now...

Psalm 34 v 8
Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him.

The bible tells us about events that will affect humanity in the future. One event that I often think about is the future Millennial Reign of Christ on earth - that is, on this earth, not the new one!

If there is going to be a literal 1000 year Millennial Reign of Christ as outlined in Revelation 20 v 1-7; I suggest it prudent to find out about it and explore the possibilities and implications.

Having done this exercise for myself by taking a holistic view of scripture on the subject, I am not only assuming that it will happen but I also accept that the circumstances which I experience in my life's journey are preparing me for it.

This 'world view' adds a wonderful dynamic to recognising God's plan for the here and now.

Quote from Bibletimeline... Imagine a world with no starving children, no homeless people, no drug dealers, no inner city ghettos, no red light districts; a world where there is no racism or terrorist threat, no internet scams, no pedophiles and no unemployment.

Imagine a world where there is a solid infrastructure for education, commerce, welfare, healthcare and an affordable care system for the elderly.

Imagine a world with a secure banking system, sustainable energy sources, fair trade and zero inflation; a world with a functioning judicial system where punishment fits the crime and where the law also acts as an effective deterrent.

Imagine a world where there is no threat of war and where there are no brutal dictators; a world where universal government is enforced to ensure equality and fairness for all people of all nations. It may come as a surprise, but... End quote.
