Introduction

He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.

God is the ultimate reality - period. Eternity will confirm this for every individual.

We are eternal beings and we need to make it our business to find out where we will be in eternity. We are all given a choice where we will spend eternity and as there are only two ultimate destinies - Heaven and Hell - you would assume that the choice would be straightforward.

I will ask the question - where do you want to go when you die - Heaven or Hell? Most people avoid making a commitment to God because of the perceived cost in terms of our ‘lifestyle choices’ in the here and now. It is sad and ironic that many people refuse to repent and turn to God based on the misconception of how they might ‘lose out’ in this life. How daft can we be?

They neglect any sober consideration of the consequences of spending eternity in hell, shut out from God’s presence forever. Let’s face it; this life is measured in terms of a few short years. How does this stack up in comparison to a never ending eternity? Answer – it doesn’t!

Before we go any further, we need to point out another important event - the ‘Final Judgement’. After the Tribulation and the Millennial Reign of Christ, the final judgement will take place at The Great White Throne, as described in Revelation 20 v 11-15. It is at this point that eternity becomes a reality.

Every unsaved soul from all ages of human history will be gathered at this throne. If you are not a Christian, everything that you have done in your lifetime is recorded in heaven and will be reviewed at this throne of judgment. This is singularly the most important appointment scheduled for your life; are you ready?

God will judge everyone according to what is written in the books. This includes your thoughts and motives as well as your actual words and actions. Everything! Above all, what you will be judged on is this; What did you do with Christ?
