Time waits for no man
Hi recipients of C2R Blog.
I hope and pray that you are well.
Life can be tough at times and you already know this. What can make circumstances even more difficult is when we think we have no one to talk to about what we are going through. As we get older, our circle of friends seems to shrink and it can be tempting to think that we will end up isolated, forgotten and lonely, but it doesn't have to be like this.
Whatever you are going through today; loneliness, failure, feeling disorientated, tired, angry, bereived, unemployed, or just disillusioned with life in general, I can assure you with confidence that...
"This too, shall pass".
Moving home, changing jobs, joining a new church, physical and mental health issues or even losing a loved one, can increase stress levels and anxiety, seemingly beyond our ability to cope. But there are promises in God's Word that are much more than coping mechanisms, which can help us to re-focus and re-evaluate our circumstances and actually change outcomes as well as our demeanour.
A promise to consider
2 Cor 4 v 17-18
"For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." NIV
What a wonderful promise this is to everyone who believes in Jesus as their Saviour and Lord! What insight and perspective this offers us!
Our light and momentary troubles - these are indeed manageable and temporary.
Our troubles are also achieving for us an eternal glory - nothing is lost or wasted!
What is seen is temporary - we can have confidence to endure hardship!
What is unseen is eternal - we can look forward to better times ahead - indeed for eternity!
Brothers and Sisters in the Lord, be sure of this; whatever circumstances you are enduring...
"This too, shall pass."
