Hypothesis - The Sun will not last forever

"In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.
They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment. Like clothing you will change them and they will be discarded."
Matthew 24 v 35
Jesus said, "Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away."

"Lift up your eyes to the heavens, look at the earth beneath; the heavens will vanish like smoke, the earth will wear out like a garment and its inhabitants die like flies."
Hebrews 1 v 10-11
"In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.
They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment. You will roll them up like a robe; like a garment they will be changed."
2 Corinthians 4 v 18
"So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."
The above scriptures indicate that the universe, or at least the Solar System will not last forever. Let me say at the start of this discussion; what prompted this little article is the biblical view of a young universe and a young humanity.

Creation took place circa 4000 + BC and therefore, the universe is circa 6000 + years old.
It follows that if the Lord Jesus returns in the near future; if we include the future Millennial reign of Christ on earth, this world will have a total life span of circa 7000 + years.
We can also deduce from a biblical perspective that the Sun will have a circa 7000 year life span. It was created on Day 4 of the creation week and it will pass away after the Millennium. Revelation 21 v 1 and 22 v 5. We could say that the sun is 'fit for purpose'.
As an aside; the notion of a 7000 + year 'life span' for this world, is an interesting parallel with the seven day week and in particular the creation week - six days of work followed by a seventh day of rest.
Science insists that the universe has existed for millions or billions of years. In an attempt to challenge this view, I want to demonstrate the difference between;
a) the reality of several thousand years of known human history
and
b) the concept of millions or billions of years
I will use the following simple hypothesis:
The Sun is at the centre of our Solar System and it is generally accepted that it is reducing in mass as a result of expending energy through nuclear fusion. The Sun will eventually burn out.
The consensus of opinion is that the Sun will first expand and become an enormous red star and will consume the remaining planets in the Solar System.
Scientists say that the time frame for this eventuality is of course millions of years away.
The bible tells us about a unique and temporary phenomenon regarding the Sun; during the fourth bowl of God's wrath the Sun will burn more intensely, sufficiently so to scorch the skin.
Revelation 16 v 8-9
"The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and the sun was allowed to scorch people with fire. They were seared by the intense heat and they cursed the name of God, who had control over these plagues, but they refused to repent and glorify him."

Layers of the sun
NASA's Goddard Space Flight Centre and Solar Dynamics Observatory monitor the behaviour of the Sun's surface. They tell us that there are hot and cold spots on the surface of the sun.
Whether this temporary phenomenon is the occurrence of one of these hot spots behaving erratically or if it is a divine intervention at the command of God - the sun is going to literally scorch the earth for a short period of time.
We also know that the sun will return to normal for the Millennial reign of Christ as it will need to perform for another 1000 years after the Tribulation.
Indulge me for a few moments as I ask you to consider the most basic layman's hypothesis regarding the life span of the Sun.
Since this is a 'hypothesis' we need to have a starting point for the argument and so, in order to keep it simple for me to understand and convey; I will use a simple mathematical illustration as follows:
Let's say that the Sun is losing or consuming 0.00001 % of it's own mass or it's own energy every year.
a) Factor this by 6000 years of human history (from the biblical record) and we will deduce that the Sun has lost 0.06 % of it's mass or energy in the last 6000 years.
This would seem a reasonable enough deduction for our argument so far. It would be fair to say that this would be a virtually unnoticeable reduction in the Sun's mass or capability to shine and give out energy. We wouldn't notice any difference as far as our dependence on the sun is concerned.
To further our argument;
b) Factor this by 10 million years; a tiny fraction of the assumed age of the universe - billions of years according to science - and we can easily deduce that the Sun would have completely expired long ago!
Do the maths; 0.00001 x 10,000,000 = 100%
The simple point that I want to make in this layman's hypothesis is this; Science wants us to believe that the universe has existed for millions or billions of years.
The biblical record tells us quite plainly that the universe, specifically the earth, Sun, Moon and stars were created circa 4000 + BC and so have only existed for 6000 + years.
I know full well that I have taken an illustrative factor of 0.00001 % as a point of reference with no proven scientific data to base this on. That is why this is a hypothesis.
However, as it is generally accepted that the Sun's mass and energy resource is being exhausted - we can therefore use a factor of 'X' for a hypothesis.
The simple illustration above graphically demonstrates the distinction between;
a) the reality of several thousand years of human existence
and
b) the concept of millions or billions of years.
